If you passed your HGV test after September 2009 and didn’t already have C1 on your licence, you will need to complete modules 2 and 4 to drive professionally. These are in addition to the normal theory and practical tests.

You can’t sit module 4 until you have passed module 2.
Once you have completed your initial CPC you have 5 years to complete 35 hours of periodic training.
This is ongoing training for existing drivers. Professional drivers need to complete 35 hours of training with an approved training provider every 5 years. There is no pass or fail for this.
