First it’s time for a trip to the doctors for a medical. You can go to a medical centre that specialises in HGV medicals, or if you prefer, you can go to your own doctor. If you book with us then this is included as part of the package. The doctor will need to complete and sign a D4 form which you can download from here.
Next you can apply for your provisional licence. To do this you need to complete form D2 from DVSA which you can order from here. Send both D2 and your completed D4 medical form to:

This is also a theory test. The test is made up of 7 case studies you work through on a computer. The case studies are short stories based on situations that you’re likely to come across in your working life.
This is your practical driving test. It lasts about 90 minutes and includes practical road driving, off road reversing and vehicle safety questions. You can’t sit your practical driving test until you have passed module 1.
This is another practical session, but a safety demonstration test. It lasts about 30 minutes and focuses on vehicle safety and security.
The subjects covered are;
