Class 2 To Class 1 HGV Driving Course

Below is a breakdown of what’s involved in upskilling from Class 2 to Class 1 with Ultima.

Reverse Training

£360 Inc. VAT

Test Fee: £40

This is your first session in the vehicle. You will complete 4 hours of reverse training, and then a 30-minute reverse test including a couple and uncouple. As we are a DVSA approved test center, a free resit is also available if unsuccessful.

On Road Training

16 hrs: £1440 Inc. VAT / 20 hrs: £1800 Inc. VAT

Test Fee: £115

This takes place over a series of 4 hour sessions, 1-on-1 with an instructor, covering everything you will be tested on at your 3B driving test, as well as covering potential test routes. Your driving test will take place on your last day, with a short warm up beforehand.

Periodic CPC

£55.20 Inc. VAT

Upload Fee: £8.75

When upskilling your HGV licence, it can be wise to top up your CPC back to 35 hours if needed. At Ultima, we run regular Periodic CPC sessions on Saturdays to help you stay compliant with regulations.
